Import From GeoTheme

    Can anyone help with advice on how I can import events and places from our geotheme site into new site built using wpgeodirectory? Cheers, Andy

    Hi Andy,

    currently the only way would be to export from GT in a CSV file 1st (there is a tool here however I think it can’t handle more than 2000 listings at a time)

    Than rearrange the data in the GD csv file, correct where necessary and re-import.

    I know the devs were working on a tool to import/export seemlessly, but I don’t know how long before it will be ready.

    I’m flagging this for Stiofan to let us know.

    Hi Paolo, thanks for the advice I’ll give this a go. I have one question though.

    GT I believe will have one field for address which includes postcode plus latitude and longitude fields.

    When I import the csv do I need to populate a postcode field or will it work with a blank postcode field as long as lat and long fields are there?

    Hi Andy,

    that is what needs to be updated. You definitely need to add city/region/country before importing. Zip code isn’t mandatory.
