I’m trying to import a list of additions to our directory that we’re setting up and it isn’t working no matter what I try. I’ve made sure to set up the CSV exactly as the demo one recommends, in the same order, without any of the mandatory fields being empty at any point in the CSV and it simply does nothing. When I hit the “Import data now” button after selecting the file, it counts down the number of entries as if it’s working, but then when it’s completed nothing happens and no entries are imported. Is this a known issue or what could be the cause? I’ve attached the CSV for review.

You are missing the first column (post_id) and you do not have any dates or times for your events.

I note that the sample Event CSV does not have a post_id column which is an error I think – I’ll check for you.

I had tried it with the post_id field there originally and it didn’t work but I just tried it again and still not working. In the documentation it doesn’t say the event date/times are mandatory and we don’t have that information yet or some might not have them so is that a problem or should we delete those columns or do we have to leave all of theme in there even if they’re blank?

    Hi,

you can’t remove columns from the file. Blank the data instead. The column post_id must be there or import will not work.

You can’t import events without dates. they are mandatory fileds.

You must put at least a dummy date and edit them once you have the correct date.

    Thanks

How do I import them as normal listings then and not specifically events? I don’t want them to have to have dates attached to them.

    Hi,

you can import them as gd_place (Places) instead, or any other custom post type except events.

    Thanks

The documentation has now been updated, thanks for pointing that out: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/#import
