    Just loaded a large lot of data into GDv2 as I tough this time everything is fine. Post_Category using correct Cat_ID, etc. However, after finished loading, records did not go into their categories. default image is showing CPT default image rather than category default image.

    Checked DB, category ID seems all fine. Checked CPT categories, no count for any category.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    If you add a listing from frontend/backend with a known category working category does it work properly?

    Please share WP Admin if we need to check the settings.

    URL and login details please.
    I think the issue is that you are telling the system which is the default category, but that category is not added to the list of categories. A listing cannot have a category as default if the listing is not in that category. But I would need to check, have a test yourself please.
    Or the category does not exist for that CPT.

    I had no problem importing the GUUST TEST listing:
    * Make sure the default category is a category applicable for the listing.
    * NULL is not a valid ID for a post_author.
    * Are you using libreoffice?
    * You should leave cells empty instead of entering NULL.

    NULL is generated automatically. There used to be no issue in V1 import. I can replace all NULL with empty without issue. But these should not be the reason for now inputting to category correctly. post_category in DB showing cat_ID is inserted and correct.

    Default category is one of the category in that CPT, “Others”, which is to be replaced with uncategorized, sound better.

    So form the screen shot, did you discover any possible reason for listing not showing in category?

    cheers

    * Make sure the default category is a category applicable for the listing, not the CPT, so make sure it is in the post_category column before adding it to the default_category column.
    * NULL is not a valid ID for a post_author[probably not the issue].
    * Are you using libreoffice?

    Have you tried yourself with correct values?

    paraphrasing Guust, 119 must also be in post_category

    In the import CSV, 119 must also be in post_category in the import CSV

    I am confused. CSV has 119 as default_category. post_category I want them to be in their own category.

    This is very straight forward in V1. Now I am totally lost. all loaded listings have correct category names mapped (csv only has cat_ID, which means GD does recognize these category ID). Just don’t know why they do not show under their own category.

    I do not want any records in 119. It is just to catch records with error. I do not actually need this category at all.

    Please clear my mind. thanks

    You could just add the first category to the default category column, then, no?

    You can only choose a default category for a listing if it is a category for the listing. Simples.
    You cannot categorise a car as a vehicle, and then say the default category is a book.

    This is a basic example: Macca’s can be categorised as a takeaway, restaurant and coffeeshop. That is 3 categories. The default category MUST be one of those 3 categories [it cannot be something else like a hotel suddenly]
