Hey-o! Thans for the great plugin and the extra great support you all provide!

On this one, I’m trying to import listings using the importer tool you all provide. For the category section, your example csv shows a comma separated list of categories in the category column.

My import has numerous categories that contain commas inside the category name. For example, “Hot Rods, Street Rods, Etc.” would be one category, not three. I’ve properly wrapped any category that contains a comma inside of double quotes, but they’re not importing any of the categories that are wrapped in quotes. Do you have another way I should wrap the categories that contain a comma?

Hopefully that makes sense. Let me know if not and I’ll try and clarify more!

Have you tried importing using the category slug instead of the name?

    It should work…

p.s. it is unclear in your post if you have or not categories created in advance. That is mandatory.

    Let us know,

    Thx

Categories are already imported, sorry should have said that. Here’s a sample import file, let me know if you see any issues with the category column specifically, before I try and match up the slugs (which would be significantly more complicated)…

    Hi,

we just looked into it in details and currently there is no way to import categories with commas in their name via csv file, because we use explode to separate the categories delimited by commas and explode does not recognise escape characters.

Slugs will not work either, it only work by category name.

The only quick solution would be to avoid using commas in categories (if are to be imported via csv).

Or modify the category name removing all commas before importing and than add them back after import is done.

    Thx

Okay, I’m going to replace all commas with ” – “, we’ll survive that. So question then, you said to first import the categories. Since I have to re-import the categories at this point, want to make sure I do it right. How do you recommend importing all the categories?

Thank you so much for all the help, seriously.

Categories can’t be imported, they have to be created in advance.

    Thx
