After installing the lastest plugin upgrades the home page of my website is no longer displaying the GD Home Content Section Widget – Popular Post View. The updates dropped my settings.

If I try to add the widget back and try to select an option such as “Post Category” or “Sort by” options, I get an error message that says “An error has occurred. Please reload the page and try again.”

If I then reload the page, before it completes reloading the page, it briefly displays, “Warning: Illegal string offset ‘id’ in /home/”…”/wp-content/themes/GeoDirectory_framework/options/ReduxCore/extensions/customizer/extension_customizer.php on line 217”

Please be more careful in the future. Please get me back up properly quickly.

    Hello,
Could you please tell us the URL of your website with user/psw in a private reply.
I will let Stiofan be aware of this.

    Thanks
    Simone

    Hi,

I believe the problem comes from GDF 1.0.4, not the core plugin. I’ve asked N0ise to reinstall the old version for you while we track down the problem.

We would need link, wp admin and ftp credentials in a private reply please.

    I’m terribly sorry about this…

Can’t you just email me the file and I’ll install it.

Ok, Simone and I just tested and the problem isn’t GDF 1.0.4 , but has been the auto update.

If you install 1.0.4 via FTP manually, everything should work as expected.

We are sending 1.0.3 to your email just in case…

Again, I apologize about the incenvenience.

That did not fix the problem unfortunately. I manually installed GDF 1.0.4 after downloading from your website. Exact same problem.

I did. I have several of the upgraded add-ons installed. Can I still just write GDF 1.0.3 over the installed GDF 1.0.4 without de-activating the add-ons or doing anything else first?

    Hi kbrotman,

Please add this to the top of your child theme functions.php after the opening php tag,

    error_reporting(E_ERROR);

This will stop your site outputting php warnings which are only really for developers, the messages you are seeing are warnings not error, but i will fix them.

Please let us know how u get on.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    HI Stiofan,

That did get rid of the error messages. Everything seems to be working again. The options settings of the GD Home Content Section Widget – Popular Post View are now being remembered whereas before I’m pretty sure they weren’t. That was possibly before I restored from a back up and then upgraded again. Anyway, I’m ok now.
