    Hi,

We’d like to try integrating Google’s Autocomplete Address function on our location fields on our dev site: https://www.simplfi-mockups.com.au/.

    See screenshot attached.

What is the best way to do this?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew, enable this setting:
GD > Settings > Locations > Show Advanced > Enable location search autocompleter > YES.

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

That setting autocompletes locations from the listings within geodirectory, however I’m looking to implement Google Address Autocomplete so I can perform a radius search rather than return listings in a specific city/region.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

That setting will look up any address. If it doesn’t do that for you, then you may be missing some Google API settings.
    Try it at https://wpgeo.directory/starter/

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

Thanks for that – looks like I’ve got everything configured but still can’t seem to get those “near” suggestions coming up. See screenshots. I’ll share my credentials with you in a private reply in case they’re necessary for you to take a look.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Oh right, I didn’t realise I had to type in a street address for the ‘Near’ results to come up. Is there any way to have it come up for cities? eg, “Melbourne”? See screenshot. I’d rather the ‘Near’ came up rather than ‘In’.

Is there any way to modify this so that “Near” autocompletes are displayed for cities when only the city is typed out (eg, “Melbourne”) rather than also having to add the beginning of the state as well?

If you have worldwide listings, then countries and regions may be required to be entered.
The Google API has a mind of its own, and is quite US-centric for some obscure reason …
So if there is a Melbourne in the US and one in Australia, it will favour (or favor) the US Melbourne.

    Thanks
