Hi, how can I use the non-Latin characters in the CPT location slug? I need to have smth like mydomain.com/今日は/ instead of mydomain.com/places/
If this can only be done directly in WP database could you point me to the right tables, please?

I think the only solution for this is making sure the database collation for the entire database and tables is UTF-8.

I’m flagging this for Vikas to confirm.

    Thx

The current collation is UTF8, the problem is when you try to change the location slug in the GD Permalinks settings. It would be nice if you can tweek the code so we can use non-Latin words. For now the only solution is to use the WPML plugin.

Thank you Vikas! Please let me know if I need to use WPML like described here http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-page-slugs/ or you are going to implement this in a new core update.

Hi, Vikas, any news on this issue? Will it be possible to change the CPT slug with non-latin characters by GD plugin? Or the only option to change is to use WPML?

Hello, any news on this issue? I tried to put non-latin characters (greek, japanese, etc.) in the GD – Permalinks – Listing url prefix but I still getting an error “Invalid character in listing url prefix”. Seems only english letters are applicable. Please advise.

I’ve added this to the Project tracking system, we won’t miss it, don’t worry.

    Thanks for you patience,
