    Good Day,

I’ve testing my Events Schema with Google Structured Data Tool and have noticed that all the additional Schema GD has set up for Events are showing Errors and Warnings as follows:

    FoodEvent Schema:
    WARNINGS:
    ——–
address: The property address is not recognised by Google for an object of type FoodEvent.
geo: The property geo is not recognised by Google for an object of type FoodEvent.
endDate: The endDate field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.
offers: The offers field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.
performer: The performer field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.

    ERRORS: ***
    ———–
location: A value for the location field is required.
startDate: A value for the startDate field is required.

So besides for the Warnings, – The Errors are unacceptable and need to be fixed.

These errors do not show for the Event Category; – only all the others GD has added.

For me to now validate all my Events; – I will have to change the schema for all my categories.

    Please advise.

Check the structured data here https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool#url=https%3A%2F%2Fppldb.com%2Fkiran%2Fevents%2Funited-states%2Fflorida%2Fcutler-bay%2Fevents%2Fapril-fool-day%2F

    Hi Kiran,

Thanks for looking into this. The issue is not with the @type Event Schema.

GD has several other @type event categories i.e. VisualArtsEvent, FoodEvent, Festival etc.

These other @type schema event categories have many errors and warnings and do not validate.

I’ll send an example in private post to follow.

    Hi Kiran,

Unfortunately I am not allowed to share details. Changing your dev sites’ event category schema should do the trick.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Dale,

The problem has been fixed, actually there was a problem for event with other then Event schema type.

    See https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool#url=https%3A%2F%2Fppldb.com%2Fkiran%2Fevents%2Funited-states%2Fflorida%2Fcutler-bay%2Ffood%2Fapril-fool-day%2F

Fix will be available in next release or provide us FTP credentials if you want us to apply fix on your site now.

    Hi Kiran,

Perfect, awaiting the next release. Will this be applied to Event plugin or GD core?
