Is There Any Way to Abbreviate State Names in the Slugs?

Hope I posted this in the right place…

    Example:

    http://demo.com/places/south-carolina/greenville/morimoto/

    to:

    http://demo.com/places/sc/greenville/morimoto/

Reason I ask is Google’s clamping down on long URLs. And more people type abbreviations for the state vs the state full name.

Would be FABULOUS if we could abbreviate the state name slugs. All the big box company directories use abbreviations. Example: Home Advisor, Yellow Book, Angies List, Houzz, etc…

You can do that by editing locations every time as they are added. The problem you will have if you have users add listings, is that the Google API will create a new state again called /south-carolina/.

    See more at

    and

    Thanks

Yeah, I was tinkering around with it. I would love to have the option to only abbreviate the state name slug and nothing else. If I do it that way it messes more up than its worth.

    You know what I mean.

    Thank you for the help!
