    Hi,

I installed WPML 3.9 on my test site with the promising hope that the need for duplicates would become a thing of the past: https://wpml.org/2018/01/wpml-3-9-released/?utm_source=WPML+users&utm_campaign=792d49a775-wpml3_9&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_1690db64e3-792d49a775-91135173

I set all directory post types to display the original language if no translation was found and then deleted one of the duplicates. The issue is that it doesn’t display anymore in other languages than the original. Could you please take a look? Let me know if you need access to my test site to play around with it.

I’m still grateful for all the work you guys did to make GD compatible with WPML duplicates. Too bad that feature wasn’t available yet.

    Best,
    Marc

Sorry, I think I jumped too fast. The feature is not ready to be used in real life:

…this new translation mode works only from the site’s default language to its other languages. You can create content in the site’s default language and it will automatically appear on other languages even if not translated. It doesn’t work the other way around. If you create content in another language (not the site’s default language) this content will not appear on other languages.

Nevertheless, I tested it with an English listing and it gives a 404 in French because the slugs don’t translate, but no rush in finding a solution for that as long as this functionality is only a one way street.

    Best,
    Marc

    Hi Marc,

we have a task scheduled to take a look at the new WPML features.

Thanks for staying in touch and keeping us informed about what you find.

We will be taking a closer look at this after GD V2 is released.
