issues with advanced search

Hi
I have Advanced Search installed and have correctly specified United Kingdom for the Near search option, I believe.
However, when I search for a listing I know to be near me, I am experiencing issues.
The key words I search for are ‘Pippa Greenwood’ near ‘Petersfield’. If I select the dropdown option that appears for ‘Petersfield (city)’ I get 0 results and map of the whole world.
If I ignore the dropdown option, I still get a map of the whole world on the results page, but the listing for Pippa Greenwood does appear in the results.

How can I make the map on the results page UK only and how can I resolve the issue around the dropdown for the place name that leads to zero results?
