Keep Address Fields but Not Limit Search Results by Distance

    I see that we can now remove the required address fields from all versions of a CPT which implies we no longer need addresses for search/category/listing results.

    I also see that this functionality physically removes the address related fields.

    Is there a way to retain all of the address related fields but no longer have search, category and listing results be affected by the user’s distance?

    Hi N,

    At the moment it is not possible to use address fields and disable filter by location.

    Here are few options that you can achieve what you asked:
    – Create new custom fields(Address, Country, Region, City, Zip etc) with different field keys.
    – If you are using only one CPT then you can increase distance radius to larger value ex: 10000 so it will cover all the results.
    – Filter SQL query and increase distance value applied in SQL query where clause.

    I have found what works for me, at least in part.

    GD –> Settings –> Locations –> click SHOW ADVANCED, Archive urls : Disable

    Just in case anyone else wishes to remove current location data from being added to their Archive page URLs.
