Keeping empty locations from displaying

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    Would be awesome. Google hates empty pages. If a location is created for one reason of another, but has nothing in it, ideally it would

    a. Not be shown at all or
    b. Contain a no index/ follow meta tag
    c. Be capabable of being “cleaned” from the locations list by pressing a “delete empty locations” button.

    Hi,

    we created the multilocation system so that the site admin didn’t have to create any location in advance.

    Users can add new locations while submitting listings.

    All this to prevent empty locations and /or a query to check if the location is empty before loading the content, which would slow down the overall performance of the website.

    Really?

    You can’t do something like this?

    a. Add an option, “Don’t show empty locations”
    b. On saving this option empty locations are set to inactive.
    c. Website only displays active locations.

    Don’t get me wrong, Ive been using WordPress directories for years, and yours is the best by a long shot….. but in terms of obeying Google’s rules when it comes to Panda/thin content… its not all it could be.

    Hi,

    we would still have to run an extra query, to see if it is inactive or not…

    I’m sure we can improve the system a lot and that’s what we keep doing every day, but in this case, if the system is used as designed, not adding empty locations in advance, Google rules are perfectly respected.

    The problem arise if admin adds empty locations, when he shouldn’t.
