link blog post to place category

    Hi there

    I am waiting to display related blog posts on a category listing page.

    I am using the standard “places” post type with the standard taxonomy of categories.

    The plan was to either use tag’s or the blog post categories and match the name. I have read that using a shared taxonomy isnt recommended?

    I was planning to use elementor pro to bring the blog post links into the category listing pages.

    Is anyone else doing this? If so how are you doing it?

    That would require your own customization.
    Even if you have the same named categories across 2 post types, that is not enough to link them because they will have different IDs.

    Just adding a comment.
    This can be done out of the box: If you are using a GD CPT for your blog posts (instead of the WP blog post option), then you can add the “blog posts” based on the city to your detail pages of another CPT by using a GD shortcode in a tab.
    But you will not be able to filter by category or tags without your own customization.
