Link to business, skip search part?

Hi,

We are building a niched directory where companies can publish events.
So when a user/company signs up, the first thing they need to do is register a company (under the gd_place CPT)
Then they can start registering their events and these events should all somehow be tied to that earlier registered gd_place-company as organizer/contact info

So I have activated the link to business feature when creating events.
Would it be possible (or very hard) to simply have the ”Search business…” -select list populated with applicable posts from gd_place by default?
(which in our case will always be the one company registered for each user)
…instead of letting the user search for that company every time registering a new event
