    Hi,

My posts are showing an “optional” category, besides the selected category.

    – I see this on the backend (category X, Optional or Optional, Category X), but not when editing the listing.

    – On the database I see commas before and after the category ID – don’t know whether this is normal nor if that affects in anyway the behavior.

    – The frontend shows the right category.

Issue is that the SEO variables %%primary_category%% and %%category%% show no result.
How can I remove the “optional”?

    Thanks,
    Andre

    I don’t think I am understanding this.
It is normal that a listing can be in more than one category.
It is normal that the CSV and database uses commas to separate category IDs.
    I don’t think %%primary_category%% is a GD option.

Can you please include links and an explanation where we can find those details you are talking about, and your WP admin login details in a private reply if we need to have a look at something.

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough. The question here is about having a category called “optional” assigned to most if not all of my listings (seen on the backend), whereas this category “optional” is not defined in any place, and even on the database I can’t see it.

It might not be an issue, but I thought it was impacting the SEO variable %%primary_category%%.

If this variable is not used, which variable can I use to get the post category?

    Thanks
    Andre

That comes from your WPML settings. See sidebar of each listing in the backend.
    Thanks

I don’t suppose that should have any impact then.

Why doesn’t the category show up on the title then? I am trying the %%category%% variable on SEO, but nothing comes out…
