List of unsupported characters

    Do you have a list of unsupported characters for bulk uploads? It’s really frustrating because it keeps saying that the data is invalid.

    Thanks for your post. You need to make sure the map understands your address and you can give it a try here https://www.google.com/maps or https://www.latlong.net/ . Let us know if it helps.

    Encoding of the file itself can cause an issue.

    Try the following:

    1. Add listing to GD
    2. Export listing
    3. Open in LibreOffice (only, as per #import instructions)
    4. Make note of the encoding of the file
    5. Copy paste a row of your content into the file (without changing encoding)
    6. Try upload

    Thanks but that’s not really what I’m asking. Characters like & and ‘ aren’t supported in the CSV used for bulk imports. Do you have a full list of the unsupported characters?

    Most/all symbols from a particular character set matching your DB can be used. Characters that are ‘illegal’ will show as questions marks in the record preview when the file is opened in LibreOffice with the character set matching your DB collation. Matching the character set is the first step, to define which set of character encoding is in use. Then using find-and-replace is next for the characters that are based in a different character set.
