I assumed that any subscriber would want to control their listing and by default would check this box.

What is the reason anyone would not check the box to edit their listing? Who else could control their listing (other than Admin)?

In other words, what happens if this box is not checked?

See the attachment to understand the field I’m referrring too as a subscriber is filling out their information within a package.

As an example, in some cases directories allow free listings and the community will populate events. Then the event submitter will leave that unchecked and invite the event producer to claim the event and add more details. Depending on the settings anyone might claim the event, and the admin might approve the claim, or be waiting for the event owner to claim it.

Only the admin or the original author can edit an unclaimed listing.

    Thanks for quick response.

If I remove the question all together, who can edit the profile…..Admin and Subscriber?

My preference is to remove so as to avoid confusing the Professional that is enrolling.

If you remove it then it will not be possible for someone to claim it. If you do not need claims, then you can also simply disable the claim listing addon.

Every listing can be edited by any admin and the author of the listing.

When someone claims a listing and the claim is approved their account is set as the author.

6If you want to upload unclaimed listings, then, you really need the claim field, and it must be set to active, not admin only, and unchecked by default.

Without the claimed field it will be quite a lot of work to rake in claims, match, configure and produce notifications about them. The Claim addon handles all of that.
