'Listing Published Successfully' notification not received

    Hi,

    I am testing adding listings (for a new CPT) and although client receives my ‘Listing Application Received’ email (Post submit success to client email), the ‘Listing Successfully Published’ (Listing published email) email does not arrive (both under GD> Notifications).

    Checking my email records, the latter emails stopped getting sent a while back, but have been arriving when testing payment packages (e.g., once checkout payment processed ok) – could this be related to having listings set to be published without review?

    I am having a think about wording the ‘Listing Application Received’ email in terms of whether they should expect the ‘Listing Successfully Published’ email, but am perplexed that this is not always sent.

    Hi,

    please install https://wordpress.org/plugins/email-log/ and let us know if emails are logged, but not sent, if that is the case, you will need to either install a SMTP plugin or ask to your server admin for help.

    Hi,

    I have installed the log and tested two listings – one of the new CPT ‘Resources’ which does not go though checkout, and one other CPT, which goes through checkout because a free voucher is used. The log shows all expected emails except ‘listing published successfully’.

    Could this be due to the settings being set to allow submitted posts to be published without review i.e., ‘Method Instant Publish’, as the Acknowledgement of Payment Details email says (thereby negating the need for 2 emails)? Alternatively, could it be something in the latests updates (the last ‘Listing Published Successfully’ email I have from testing is on 22nd Feb – I don’t recall when I updated the plugins)?

    No, this is a server issue.

    you will need to either install a SMTP plugin or ask to your server admin for help.

    hi Paolo,

    I do not understand how you can be so sure about this – the servers appear to be handling all the other messages fine, it is just this one message. Can you please explain.

    That is not the case in this instance: the emails are not even being logged.

    Hi adyp,

    The listing published email is only meant for when a listing is in draft and then gets published but you have your default listing set to be published by default, you may get them for paid listings as they are often set as draft until payment is received and then published once payment is confirmed.

    Also on a side note i found it impossible to actually find your add listing page, i jut seemed to go around in a loop, you need to make that page easier to find on your site, i ended up just entering the url direct and still never found the link on your site…

    HI Stiofan,

    I’d wondered about the effect of having it set to publish straight away – I’ll amend my other notification text so as not to have the ‘published successfully’ notification expected.

    Thanks for feed back about adding a listing – I had though I had done enough having the link on the homepage and instructions through main menu on other pages – obviously not! – I’ll have a look.

    Thats the thing the first link i saw was the how to ad a listing and i just clicked it and then kept licking the links about adding listings but never got to the add listing page 🙂
