Location appended by-1

Hi,

Before I begin, I am aware of the post regarding this and the standard cause being the slug has already been assigned elsewhere.

The problem I have is my region slugs are being appended by -1 also & I am certain that I have never set any page/post etc for the regions that my website will cover. I have made sure all unwanted plugins etc have been deleted. I have even deleted all cities within one region and therefore the region (listings etc exported before deletion) to upload again from scratch using just one test listing but the region and city slug is still appended.

I am sure this has to be because it is in use somewhere else (it’s the only thing that makes sense), I would imagine from a plugin that set the required slug automatically in the past as it wasn’t done manually but how can I find where this slug is in use?

I appreciate this isn’t strictly in your remit but having limited knowledge of how these things work I don’t know where else to look and really need this to work correctly.

Any advice you can give will be much appreciated.
