August 30, 2014 at 6:53 pm #13812hi,
it appears that none of the widgets is working for you 🙁
I’ve tested both the location description and the recent review in our demo and both work as expected.
http://wpgeo.directory/location/united-states/illinois/chicago/
You can see the location description on top of the sidebar and the recent review at the bottom.
I’d need to have a look at your back end to tell why they are not working for you. Probably something simple.
If you can please send us a link and wp admin credentials in a private reply, we will have a look.
Thanks

thanks
September 2, 2014 at 7:42 pm #14079i has also discovered another problem, if i share my location with the browser it shows me a map with all my places on it, but if i then search for places in a different location using the search bar about the map on the home page then the search returns nothing found because the location is still set by the browser location and not my search field location,
if that makes sense!
September 2, 2014 at 8:44 pm #14081Hi,
sorry for the delay. I must have missed your latest reply.
None of the 3 cities had a description. Currently the description widget works only for cities. For regions and countries we started adding the SEO tab, but it still doesn’t work. It should be included in next version.
Recent review is not showing because that widget appears only if there are reviews. Currently you have non.
For the search problem, that’s how it works. The near field looks for address zip in the selected location only. It doesn’t allow to search outside the selected location.
This is something we are working to improve.
Thx
September 2, 2014 at 8:49 pm #14082there are no reviews at the min due to me removing them yesterday, i have been adding test reviews to see if i can getting it working but it is not. i will go and add a few reviews now so you can see whats happening, also 1 of my places show a five star rating but no rating as been add as far as I’m aware.
September 2, 2014 at 10:09 pm #14084That’s strange, I see on all your widget an option: “Visibility” where you can create a condition for which the widget is showing or not.
Is that a plugin? If yes, can you try disabling it and let us know if the problem goes away?
Thx
September 2, 2014 at 10:24 pm #14089as far as I’m aware its always been there, i can’t see any gins related to it and i have disabled and plugins that might cause it but its still there.
September 2, 2014 at 10:27 pm #14093Can it be a new Avada feature? What version of Avada are you using?
I’m 100% sure it is not a wordpress default feature, nor I have that on my Avada demo…
September 2, 2014 at 10:31 pm #14095i have ni idea what version, i presume its the latest version as it updates regularly, the feature works to disable/enable widgets under certain condition if set, but there are none set so shouldn’t stop it showing.
September 2, 2014 at 10:38 pm #14096i have just tried changing the condition for the rating widget and it make no difference, i will try it on another widget and see what happens
September 2, 2014 at 10:42 pm #14099it would appear that the visibility widget is working ok, i have just hidden the popular places widget for when I’m logged in, and now i have deleted the settings and the popular places widget is back on the details page.
