Hi,
I have a curious issue with my login and not sure whether it is a server side issue or application issue.I had a meeting with a client school today. I had created an account for the school, which I knew worked as I tested it when editing some information with that login. When my contact tries to log in from her school computer, it only returns her to the homepage. She tried a few times: no wrong login message or any other message or 404 or anything. Looks like it is working on logging her in but then returns to the front page and she is not logged in.
When I get back to the office and try the login details from my Chrome browser, I have no issues – logs me in straight away. When I then try to log in from my iPhone, it again returns me to the front page and does not log me in.
From my security MalCare dashboard, I can track all logins. It shows my successful login from my desk computer using Chrome but there are no failed logins recorded. It is like the request to log in has not even been submitted??
All my plugins and WP are up-to-date. I removed the “business hours plugin” and use php 7.1
Thanks

I was able to create an account and then login, then login again from a different device.
Is there something else we should do to try to recreate the issue?
November 12, 2018 at 10:00 am #453723Could it be a browser issue? I’m stumped because I could log in as well but on mobile I could not and she could not log in from her browser (explorer?). Not sure where to start looking?
I use CloudFlare. Not sure if that could block some browsers.
Not sure how you can recreate it because not sure what causes issue. Seems not to be IP since I could not log in on my iPhone.
Try different browser or user agent?
November 12, 2018 at 6:43 pm #453821Did you test with Explorer from your laptop and did you try to disable Cloudflare to see if that’s the problem?
We can’t really fix what we can’t recreate…
Let us know,
Thanks

Between your feedback and my hosting, I was able to narrow it down. Not surprisingly I suppose, it was the CloudFlare firewall settings. They must be blocking older and less secure (like mobile) browsers from logging in. Changed from medium to basically off. I am now relying on my MalCare firewall which does not seem to create any problems so far.
I suppose anyone else using CloudFlare and having an active firewall in their settings will experience the same? Was a bit difficult to rat out the problem as I do not usually test login on my mobile or on non-updated browsers.
Thanks,
