    Hello,

I am trying to import a .csv file but receive the error when i use utf-8 format “1 out of 1 record(s) could not be inserted due to blank address. Address fields post_address, post_country, post_region, post_city, post_latitude and post_longitude are mandatory fields.”

When i try utf-16 i receive the error “1 out of 1 record(s) could not be inserted due to invalid/blank post type. Only use geodirectory’s post type.”

I als try different cell format, like tekst, standard, number etc. but that doesn’t seem to work.

What’s the formating of the cells ? and what field need to be quoted ?

    I use libre office calc.

Hello, please check the delimiter you’re using in the file.
Commas and double quotes as delimiters.

Hi, just checkout the database collation and it’s set to “latin1_swedish_ci” when i switch hosts. utf8_general_ci it’s there default database collation so it changed at database import.

    I guest that’s the problem.

That’s to bad, it didn’t help. Replace the database with a utf8_general_ci backup but no luck importing the .csv

Oke, the problem was a capital in the name of the row.
Somehow libre office changed “post_city” to “Post_City” without my knowledge.

Why wp-directory would choke on a capital ??… that up to the developers.

Capital letters in developing make a huge difference between life and death 🙂
