    Hey Guys,

I use Yoast SEO and I just installed Geo Directory. I am still working out some kinks but I got an error today saying that the homepage is not being indexed.

The homepage to my site has always just been the default blog page but in order to work with this plugin I changed it. Yoast suggested putting my site in onpage.org and I always ran a test on google both of them are pulling up multiple search errors and they verify that the homepage is not being indexed. I have attached some images showing all the errors that have popped up since the install. It is giving 503 errors on thousands of pages.

It says that I have to set the Canonical URL so I went to the backend of the homepage page (GD Home page) and set the conanical URL to my homepage URL in the Yoast SEO settings. I am not sure if this will fix the homepage not indexing issue and I also need help figuring out how to fix all of these 503 errors on previous posts/pages. Thank you!

    Hi,

please provide a link to your website and at links to the page returning 503. The Graphs showing in the screenshot are not that useful.

GeoDirectory doesn’t require that you change the home page, just FYI

    I followed step 6 here.

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/

I want the features of GD to be available when people first come to the site but I also want that page to be indexed obviously.

Any idea why I am getting this feedback that the homepage is not being indexed?

Also the list literally has 3000+ 503 errors? you want me to list them all???

    Hi,

You home page is indexed: https://www.google.com/search?q=503+errors&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b&gfe_rd=cr&ei=1WysWP7mKunP8Aepr73oBg#q=site:+http:%2F%2Fwww.hailmaryjane.com%2F

503 are server errors, not application errors:

503: The Web server (running the Web site) is currently unable to handle the HTTP request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay.

I would ask to your hosting provider for support about that.

    Thanks
