    Hi there, is there a way to get both events and places to show on the map?

    No, to optimise the speed of GD, only one custom post type can be shown on the map at the same time.

    Of course, the events page should only show events.
    Go to Appearance > Widgets and add GD-Gmap-Listings widget to the GD Listings Top Section.
