Hi, I’m new to GeoDirectory and my map isn’t working. I’ve followed the instructions in the documentation for generating a Google Map API and even filled out all the other information on the credentials tab for the API. I get a Oops! Something has gone wrong error in the map. Is there updated documentation that has more info that what I have found at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/ ?

    Thank you

    Hello!

We generally recommend using he “Generate API Key” button to create the API key because that automatically creates a key with appropriate APIs enabled.

We can take a look at the site and settings if you would like to make a private reply and include login details.

There is another step you can take, too, which is to open the CHeom dev tools console where API errors are displayed: https://developers.google.com/web/tools/chrome-devtools/console/

It was not the API Key, but your default location. Latitude and longitude need to be in decimal format if you decide to add it yourself – which is not necessary:

    Thanks

Thank you, that did fix the map not appearing on the listing input. I’m still having a problem with adding http referrer. I’m using the format Google suggests of https://*.domain.com/* and when I enable that the map doesn’t load. Is this something I need to talk to my host about?

    Hi Heather,

Could you try using “*.domain.com/*” without the http on the front and see if it works? If you’re still having issues, capture a screenshot of that section in private reply so that we could take a look at it.

    Thanks!

You have changed the password so we no longer can check.
    Thanks
