I can’t publish a new listing that a member posted because when I click to set the address on the map, I get the message: Geocode was not successful for the following reason: REQUEST_DENIED

What do I need to do to fix it?

Usually that error means that the Geocoding API is not available for use. This is either because the API is not available with your key, or billing hasn’t been setup.

Did you add a geocoding API key in

GD – Settings – General – Show advanced – Geocoding key

Use the button to make a new one, if needed.

Use these instructions to add billing, if needed:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/google/#tutorial

If we need to take a look please share wp admin credentials in a private reply.

    Hi,

    Yes, our team is worldwide.

You will need to setup billing, or switch to using OSM.

Did you use the button in the GD Settings to generate the key?
    If not, try that.

Also, it can take a few minutes for a new key to work. Make sure to clear your cache.

Well, if your first key is restricted, using that key won’t fix the issue.

You will need to go in and create the key manually, and then add the confirmed access to the Geocoding and timezone APIs to the new key.

Make sure to use the same project where you have billing setup.

Again, for the new geocoding key, make sure you don’t add referrer restrictions or the key won’t work.
