    Hi,

The maps on my website are not showing anymore. Instead, the maps are overlayed with an error that says, “The page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the Javascript console for technical details.”

The Javascript error in the console says “Google Maps API error: ReferrerNotAllowedMapError” and “Your site URL to be authorized” followed by the page URL.

This tells me that there is supposedly an error on the Google Maps side. I have generated an API with Google, and in the authorized domains section I entered, “*.funthingstexas.com/*”. I have also copied and pasted that API key into the appropriate box on the Map tab of the Design section in GeoDir. As far as I can tell, this should work.

A second problem is that my Stripe gateway plugin won’t recognize my license key, calling it invalid.

Can you please look at these two issues for me?

    Thanks so much!

    John

    Hi John,

Please refer to this article on how to register authorized URLs https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key#registering-authorized-urls . If it doesn’t work still, remove the authorized URLs and see if it works.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kor,

Thanks for that. It looks like I got it fixed.

I went back to the API settings page at Google and specified the protocol as well, i.e. I changed “*.funthingstexas.com/*” to “https://funthingstexas.com/*”. That seemed to do the trick. Maybe Google’s API assumed “http” if nothing was specified. (If that didn’t work, my next step was going to be to remove the URLs completely and allow any URL, but luckily it didn’t come to that.)

    Cheers,
    John
