    I now have implemented part of what Paolo suggested.
    You just need to add the CPT as a custom link.

    i know how to add a CPT from navigation. what, i’m having a problem with is
    this:

    Sample Menu “outdoor life” “when I hit this, I want it to display all categories and listings on the map”.
    * A Sample “running”
    * B Sample “hiking”
    * C Sample “biking”

    hope this makes senses. thanks for your patience, Cory.

    thanks for your patience; everything is good.

    I understand to add a custom link is
    /example
    * sub category
    * sub category B, etc.

    Also, to check my screen option to add/delete what I need.
