    Hi all,

Getting everything set up for the first time I notice that the search box on mobile (or any touch device) is really annoying. In particular, the ‘search for’ categories field. When you click a category, rather than just populate that field like it does on desktop, it takes you to a new page (showing everything in that category). You then have to use the search bar again to refine by location…

This feels very janky for an otherwise really well thought out plugin.

Am I missing something or is this just how it is? Any way around

    Hello,

that is the autocomplete option for the search for field. It will show categories and listing titles.

You can disable that in the Advance Search tab (settings)

Thanks, that’s really useful but still not ideal as it’s a great feature and certainly makes the search function easier and more accurate.

For instance, (my site is a directory for floor fitters) I may have a category called ‘Hybrid’ but users may instead type in ‘Rigid Core’. These are the same thing, but will the search serve the correct results? I’m not sure… I will test thoroughly as soon as I can.

It would be great to see a feature that would allow the use of native dropdowns instead. So on iPhone, for example, it just uses the standard iPhone/safari scroll wheel/dropdown click thing.**

    **EDIT

I’ve created a workaround. Adding the ‘category’ field in the advanced search settings to the main search bar gives me the functionality I’m after. I then just hide the ‘search’ field so users can’t edit text themselves…
