MultiLocations explanation of how it works

    Hi, I haven’t been able to work out if the MultiLocations feature is the right tool to create the feature my site needs.

    My site lists the accommodation available to students near each University in the UK. I would like the visitor (student) to select from a list of Universities (or see suggestions when they begin typing a University town-name) – then they would have the choice to find the accommodation available near to that University.

    If I add Cities (or University addresses) in the MultiLocations > Add Location dialogue box. Will it then become visible to s visitor to choose from in some kind of ‘search near here’ option?

    Please review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/manage-location/#edit

    Best practice is not to add locations here, because every location will have a page created and you will only end up with empty pages.
    Wait for your users to add listings and locations will be automatically created as your users add listings from the frontend.

    Hi, thanks for the excellent link. That example is very much like the site I’ve been asked to build. Was there much custom-coding or was it all done with GeoDirectorie’s settings and Add-ons?

    Thanks for your reply. The example Website you are referring to uses this theme https://wpgeo.directory/gdf-modern/ . You should be able to achieve this without much customization. Would you give it a try?

    That site does not use any custom coding, just add accommodation listings and GD does all the rest.
