multiple CPT's – how are they shown in maps and listings?

    I understand that when you have different CPT’s that they dont always show up on the maps and searches together but it didnt specify exactly how this works. Can you please explain a bit more about when you have multiple custom post types exactly what can and cant show in same map / search?
