Multiple selections in search fields + absence of sorting dropdown menu

Greetings to my dear hardworking GD friends:

I completed the advanced search set-up and so far, everything’s looking fine.

Now before I focus on something else entirely and because I don’t want to leave any stone unturned, I was wondering about 2 things:

1) Possibility of selecting multiple choices in specific fields

In the search field settings, one can pick either check, select, radio or link to decide on how the search field will appear to the user. But whatever choice I pick (select, radio or other), the selected field looks the same: a dropdown menu, that’s all. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, something that would be pretty cool would be if I could offer users to refine their search by picking multiple choices in some fields (i.e. picking hotels and spas under the fields “lodging”). It is supposed to work that way? Am I missing something and if so, what is it that I should do and how come I don’t see a difference when picking different styles (radio, check, etc.)?

2) Sorting dropdown menu

In the Sorting Options settings, it says “Click on any box below to make it appear in the sorting option dropdown”. It means that in the search results page, I should see a dropdown menu with sorting options… (by name, type, whatever). However this dropdown menu is nowhere to be seen, even though I set them up I think properly. I looked in some of your demos and I haven’t yet seen it. Does it exist or is it the fruit of my imagination? 😉
