Need help with customization

Hi,

I have two questions about customizing Geodirectory for our website.

First, Is there a way that you can set the home page to NOT default to a category? It would be easier for our users if it said something like “Select one” that would let them know that they have to make a choice. Otherwise they may overlook the category selection box and not get the desired results.

Second, We would like to make landing pages for each of the custom post types. What we are envisioning are these landing pages dedicated to each custom post type which would look very similar to the home page, but would not have the category selection box, and using the search bar would only show results from that category.

Does that make sense? I have been searching through the documentation and forums, but can’t really find any info on these topics.
