I am trying to add a new Place from the WP Admin interface. I save the data as a Draft, and then Preview. But none of the entry shows in the Preview page (see attachment for an example – all data for fields has been entered but you can see it’s blank). On the right column I can see the correct icon for the map pointer, but no map underneath. Why doesn’t the information show?

And how can I format this page so that different custom fields show in different tabs? Also, I don’t want the map to show on the right so would like to know how to modify the Place Details page to control what shows in the tabs and what shows in the right column.

Something seems wrong with your wordfence plugin.
It seems you have no categories setup within your CPTs yet.
    Every listing needs a CPT.

You can group custom fields by organising them within a fieldset, there is currently no way to enter them into another tab.
To remove the map from the sidebar, go to WP admin > appearance > widgets > remove the map widget from the GD DETAIL SIDEBAR area.

Thank you for the reply. I tried to respond but for some reason it didn’t get entered so I will try again.

I actually had already set up categories within the CPTs – before your comment. I set up 4 in Riding Places, 8 in Services and 2 in Products. So I don’t know what to do to correct the problem. See the attached file for a screenshot showing the categories for a CPT.

You have no listings in any of the categories in the screenshot. Unless a category has a listing, it will not show.

I have now saved a listing (which before I had simply as draft) and when I Preview the page I still see the same empty screen as the screenshot I sent when I started this topic. The only indication that there is data is the location icon (brown horse) on the map, nothing else on the page. Does the data show with preview or do I need to look somewhere else? If it doesn’t show with Preview then why not since this would logically happen? And why does the location icon show but no other data?

    Hi,

the preview listing page is used after adding the listing from the front end, not from wp admin. This because the front end form creates a session with all your data to avoid writing it in the database until it is saved by the user on the preview page.

If you are not coming from the front end form the session will be empty and your preview page will be too.

How are you reaching that page?

Once a listing is saved and pubblished, to see the data you simply visit the listing.

    Let us kow,

    Thx

    Hi,

Thank you, I can see the data when I go to the Places page and search for an entry.

I was reaching the page from Preview when adding an individual listing using the WordPress Admin. This is intuitive by the way, and a bit unnerving when nothing shows.

Last related question – why is the Map in the right column blank except for an icon on a white area when I get results from a search? (I may leave it there so need to know how to have a map show.) I have to click on the negative sign a number of times before I see a map, so for some reason the map is done at the super detailed level. Any way to set the default?

    Thank you.

I guess that is because you have set the auto-zoom for that map in the Search Sidebar area, and you have only one listing.
That is the recommended setting, because when your search returns more than one listing they will automatically show as well.
