Hi, I posted here about a month ago that I was unable to set a default city, a situation which was addressed by Paolo (thanks!). Unfortunately, something’s gone strange again, and now on both the edit location (back end) and add listing page the map is missing and clicking “set address on map” does nothing (see illustration). I’ve tried various settings changes to no avail; the only systemic changes before it went wonky were plugin updates. I’m running the latest versions of WP and Geodirectory, and will include login creds in a private message next. Thank you!

    Hi Celestinaadams.

You are having the same problem of last time.

You are entering lat and long in a wrong format:

    Lat: 35.5800° N
    Long: 82.5558° W
    which correspond to :
    Asheville, NC, USA

    Should be:

    Lat: 35.5950581
    Long: -82.55148689999999

To avoid this problem, don’t search on google the coordinates to copy them in the fields, but let GD do his job. Once you entered City, Region and Country names, click the button “Set city on map”. This will query google maps API and fetch the correct lat and long for you.

To fix now, the only thing you can do is copy the correct coordinates I provided above, paste them in the fields overwriting the wrong coordinates and save.

That should bring everything back to normal.

    Let us know,

Thanks, Paolo. I thought it was probably the same issue, but here’s the weird thing: I hadn’t changed the coordinates. I know it sounds improbable, but honestly I didn’t re-enter the coordinates (nor had I done a database restore or anything else that would account for it). And I *thought* I couldn’t edit the coordinates, because the “No records found” alert was over the latitude field, preventing me from clicking into it (undoubtedly just a browser positioning issue, I’m using Chrome), but I hacked around that by using developer tools to position the alert out of the way. Which, yes, solved the problem.

So, I suppose I’ll dismiss the mystery of the resetting coordinates unless it happens again, in which case at least I’ll know immediately what’s going on and how to fix it. I do appreciate your help and patience.
