Many pages are indexed by big G such as:

    example.com/places/page/2 (3,4,5 and so on)
    example.com/places/newyork/page/2 (3,4,5 and so on)
    example.com/restaurants/page/2 (3,4,5 and so on)
    example.com/restaurants/category/page/2 (3,4,5 and so on)
and a lot of them if we have many listings.

Google treats these pages as duplicate contents because of the description. Is there any way to no index all these subpages?

    Thanks very much

GD doesn’t have settings for that, but see this page, the bottom section about addressing challenges, for some notes; https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/faq/seo/

    Thanks for your reply.

Robots.txt is not doing the job well as google still pickup those URLS as I have tested. Robots.txt is not guaranteed.

Can implement this? Its really important. For now Ill pay freelance progrmmers to solve this out.

We will certainly consider it for a future version, but this is really the domain of an SEO plugin.

Can I stick my nose in here?

I think making paged pages of archives would be a mistake.

Yoast (he knows a thing or two) asserts noindexing paged pages for archives is a mistake, and that what’s needed is the proper implementation of rel=next/prev (which Yoast does).

If that is done, Google doesn’t treat it as duplicate content and will be able to follow the links in the subsequent pages, giving better indexing to all listings.

If any noindex options are to be considered as part of the core, may I suggest there should be an easy option for sites with a single CPT to noindex either location or places, which serve exactly the same function under those circumstances.
