Not Showing Empty Categories in Searches

    Hey Alex,

    I had asked about this previously and it was my understanding that this might change so I wanted to check to see if there have been any updates.

    I have not added new categories to my directory because if I don’t have any listings in them I didn’t want them to show up blank or empty. But the problem comes in also that when businesses want to add a new listing and they don’t find their category they get confused.

    We had talked about not showing empty categories on the front end searches and only showing them on the backend when someone is adding a listing. Has this been implemented?

    Empty categories don’t show in GD Categories (optional) or in the search dropdown select for categories (default, not optional).

    When the user adds a listing they can choose from any category that has been added to the site.

    We had talked about not showing empty categories on the front end searches and only showing them on the backend when someone is adding a listing. Has this been implemented?

    I think this is they way GD is already implemented, if I understand it correctly.

    Which list of categories are you talking about?

    I am speaking of any empty categories. I wanted to add more Business Categories but have held off because it was my understanding that they would show up as empty in the search. But good to know this is not the case.

    For GD Categories, the option is called “Hide empty”:
