Odd Url behaviour

    I have an odd problem.

    If i type in a url that doesnt exist such as /myplace geodirectory seems to pick up the search and show a listing that matches part of the url such as United kingdom/walsall/myplace-with-more-terms/ as if it were a direct link.

    Have you seen this before?

    That’s standard WP behaviour. Rather than giving a 404 straightaway, it looks through the slugs to see if there is something you might be looking for.

    ah ok. ill look through wp to see how to disable it then
