one parent category and one subcategory

    Hi,
    I need to limit so that visitors can only choose ONE parent category and only ONE subcategory when they create listing. Is that possible out of the box? if not, will that future come? if not, what do I need to do?

    Hi Robert,

    you’ll need the Prices and Payments add-on. However it will only allow you to set how many categories a lsiting can be assigned to.

    So if you select 2 categories it will give option to either select a parent and a sub-category, or 2 parent categories. It is impossible to tell it to only select 1 parent and 1 sub-category.

    sorry but what you wrote doens’t make any sense..

    You can only set the maximum amount of categories a user can choose.
    There is no possibility to allow only one category and one sub-category.
    Wordpress treats all categories equal.
    Also, you cannot choose a sub-category without choosing the parent category.

    So if you set a package to a maximum of 2 categories, these are the options available to the user:
    1. either select a parent and a sub-category
    2. two parent categories

    Hopefully that is clearer.
