Is it possible to ‘opt out’ from having a sidebar shown on certain pages? I know that when edited they are shown sitewide on the relevant pages automatically, but when creating a new page, is it possible to make an, edit whereby the sidebar is not shown? I am creating some pages where i want no sidebar, but still want that sidebar content shown on other pages across the site that is it usually on. Thanks

With GDV2 you can use your theme template to choose when to show a sidebar. For a new WP page, most GD themes come with a full width page you can use, without a sidebar. Check with your theme author about page templates. If you mean hiding the sidebar only on certain listings that would need to be done with CSS in most cases, or you could do it on all listings of a certain CPT in V2.

    Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for your post. This can be done manually using custom CSS code. Here is an article that should help you achieve what you needed there. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/

Thanks for replies. I’m very new to dealing with CSS and having just read through and had a play with the code inspector, I can see where to change elements of the page (font, colours, sizes etc) but cannot see a) where it then shows you the CSS to copy and paste as it doesn’t correspond to where it says it should show it on the linked page above, and secondly b) where to remove the sidebar entireley from the specific page. I found a code for removing the sidebar on another post, but this does not seem to relate to specific pages but to remove it site wide. On this occasion, I need to remove the sidebar from just selected pages on the site. Thanks

Thanks. I’ve not actually finished all of the pages yet, I could give you the one I’ve completed if it’s simple enough for me to replicate for the other pages or just to test then I can apply to all when the rest is done? What do you need, a link to the page or just the title of the page as it shows on the site?

    Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for your reply. You can just share a page here and I’ll show you how this can be done.

    Thanks!
