    Hi,

We have what I would call a large amount of categories for our custom post-types and after selecting ‘customize my search’ we get a display that overall is
very neat and organized, exactly what we were hoping for in this new version.

But, per the attached pics, I’m hoping there is someway to make it look a little
more organized, without all the blank spaces.

    Thanks,

All I can think of for the moment is whether you want to custom search on all of your options? Some of the options do not seem to be as important as others?
Also, some of them can be changed to a drop down menu instead of a select, which might save some room (for example the number of staff – only one option would be relevant?).

That’s impressive for an off-the-shelf search functionality!

The layout looks quite good, but as you say, you have a lot of options so the page becomes large and the number of items makes the layout look a bit skewed.

I wonder if there is some way to organise the items on tabs, or in an accordion, grouped by header?

Thanks for the suggestions, As you mentioned, some are just not that important.
I will work on weeding some out as I think things through.

As the site evolves, the categories will continue to increase, I will just work with it until I think were at the point where I can get one of our web designer members to solve the problem unless the plugin has more options at that time.

I am still blown away at all the options for almost everything you can think of.
I hope the obvious degree of dedication pays of like it did for the Avada team.

    Thanks again

In changing a few of the advanced search options from checkbox to select, your are left with the box showing ‘select option’.

Is there a way to have a particular option as the default in this drop down area?
I’m thinking the page might look a little boring with all these boxes saying the same thing.

The idea for us to have all the checkboxes showing was to show the visitor the
vast amount of sort options that wa are giving them.

I was going start rearranging the fields in advanced sort so the items with a similar item count will be grouped together, possibly the fewest choices on the top.

You first have to change the custom field itself to SELECT as well, for example for the warranty the options would be Choose one,Yes,No
Then go back to the advanced search and change the search to the same option as the custom field.
Checkboxes are used in case you have multiple options (what services do you offer), SELECT is normally used if you only have one option (what is your favourite colour).
