Hi I would like to charge customers to set-up their Place/listing, last time I checked it was not possible to do this. It was possible to do this in my previous directory software and I so I wanted to check to see if this is perhaps a feature that I could request?

Please activate the Pricing Manager: https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/pricing-manager/
You can activate it from GD > Extensions.

    Thanks

Yes thats active, I do have various packages already set-up. However, its not possible to apply an initial set-up charge that is applied once for each package.

    I am not sure I understand …

Do you want to charge a higher fee for a submission? Can you not just increase the fee then?

Do you want to charge a fee for submitting listings for your customers?
You can do that by creating a special item using the WP Invoicing plugin possibly.

Can you clarify what you are trying to achieve?

    Thanks

Well in Phpmydirectory (my previous directory software) it was possible to add a set-up fee. So for example there could be a listing package that had an e.g. £50 set-up charge.. and beyond the initial payment the standard monthly or annual charges would apply.

There is no option for that.
But that sounds a bit like a discount that can only apply to all but the first payment, in case of recurring packages.
I’ll get the developers to have a look at your question too, in case they see a quick workaround or want to add the option as a future improvement.

    Thanks

    Thanks I would appreciate this.

A well produced listing (produced by me) will perform much better for the customer/advertiser, much better than one they have thrown together in seconds. So it’s in everyone’s interest to have a good quality listing. The set-up charge provides some budget for us to dedicate time to perform this work. I user to charge for this but currently I have to throw-in the listing set-up free for advertisers.
