    Hello!
Since we launched the site a week ago we’ve noticed on mobile home page and inner pages when the search bar on mobile is engaged for any reason (using the datepicker, entering info in search field or choosing a city) the entire page shifts to the right, and then to the left.

Have you heard of that problem before? We’re eager to solve it to enhance UX at this critical early stage. See attached screenshot.

    Many thanks!

If you have any CSS for :focus or :active elements like margins those can move elements or the page. Check your custom CSS for those.

Below is the response I received from my web designer. I am viewing the site on a new iPhone Xs.

“A shift will also happen when elements are too wide for the screen. From your screenshot, the elements are not able to shrink any smaller & are still wider than your device. I’m not noticing any shift on mine.”

Does this make sense from your perspective relative to the calendar drop down from the search bar on mobile?

    Hi Barbara Magee,

Thanks for your post. Our theme is fully responsive and this is what I’m getting on my mobile iPhone.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kor,
The issue doesn’t occur at page load, it occurs when:
    1) you click the CPT selector arrow and the box pops up from the bottom to select events and the search bar shifts to the right.
    2) you click in the From: Event Dates field and the search bar shifts left
    3) click in the To: Event Dates field and the search bar shifts right
    4) click in the near field and search bar shifts left
Any variation of those happens. Then you also have the problem of the keyboard popping up and covering the calendar.

Through a GD expert we learned this sideways shifting is unique to iPhone. No solution yet but will let you know.

    Hi Barbara Magee,

Thanks for your reply. There isn’t an issue with the alignment. I’ve tested it on my mobile iPhone and the page just zooms in when you tap on the date picker. Try pinching the screen to zoom out on mobile and you’ll get what I mean.
