Paid Claims not following post paid status set in package

    This issue has been raised in another thread, but creating a new one as suggested by Alex

    As per earlier observation, and confirmed by Alex, there is no separate paid status set for claims, and these follow the same setting as set for paid posts in the package.

    However, while my post paid status is package is set as PENDING REVIEW, the status after paid in claimed posts is still PUBLISHED.

    You can only claim a published listing.
    If listings would go to pending when claimed, you get dead links and 404s until you approve them.

    Indeed, they would go to 404 – but that was how the earlier behaviour was. Earlier (and i mean till maybe march’19), the post would go into pending AFTER the claim was approved. So the admin had to approve the claim, then go and publish the post. [Ideally, the post after claim approval should go into draft, so that the new (real) owner can edit/correct it, once they get confirmation that their claim is approved. Anyway, that was not the earlier behaviour so i shall not dwell on it]

    The 404 would also happen in several other cases -eg the package expires or the author puts it into draft, or just deletes it – all due to some action/inaction by the author…a claim is also an action by the author, so if it causes 404, so be it? How to handle these 404s may be another topic…

    I’m sorry Vivek, there must have been some confusion in the other thread.

    Kiran already responded to your request. We will consider a ‘claim status change’ option for future versions. Right now it is working as expected and adjusting publish status on claim requires a customization.

    Currently GD does not offer ‘listing revision moderation’ and this feature request falls into that category. We are considering features for listing moderation for future versions and will take your request into account.
