Is there a way to set the Tags field as a picker or with an autocomplete from the existing list, instead of just a text field? I have a specific use for the Tags in my GD implementation, but that’s not going to be obvious to users, so I need to both edit the text for the Tag area and only allow the Tags to be picked from the existing list that I have designed.

Hi, no at the moment that isn’t an option.

Tags is a normal text field.

You could write an ajax function to retrieve suggestions that is triggered anytime someone types anything in the tags field.

    Thx

Ok, then should I make that a feature request?

And, is there a way to make the Tags display on the Place Listing? I want people to be able to see the Tags that I’ve collected.

Tags are displayed in the detail page, below the slider on the right hand side.

Yes, if you want us to develop it, it would need to be requested as a feature request and submitted to other members vote.

    Thx

I’m not seeing the tags. Am I missing something, or do I have a setting incorrect?

If you added them and the price package selected for that listing doesn’t limit tags, they should appear like here:

    http://wpgeo.directory/hotels/united-states/illinois/chicago/3-stars/acme-hotel/

I’d need wp admin credentials to check your setings.

    Thx

Just reading this, and thinking that you always could create a custom field that has all the tags you allow presented as a multi select, and then disable the normal tags.
That would also allow you to search by them.

Could I somehow move the existing tags from my database into the new custom field? I have 4,500 listings with tags that I need to preserve.

Probably through a very complex sql query you could do that. But I’m not even sure.

    Thx
