    Hi,

    I am fairly new to website building and have had fun playing with all the features of Geodirectory. In the place settings I have added a custom setting – multi select – it is easy to add and change for the first time, but if i go back to make edits on my customise i cannot seem to save any new changes, for example I want to change the frontend description. Can you please advise what i may be doing wrong.

    Thanks,

    From Alex

    Hi Alex, can you post your URL, WP admin details, and a link to the custom field (and more details) you are having trouble with. Post these details in a private reply, only staff can see your details then.

    You have an ajax error. I’ll get Paolo to have a look for you.

    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=geodirectory&tab=gd_place_fields_settings&subtab=custom_fields&listing_type=gd_place

    Hi Alex,

    this is an unusual one, would you mind providing FTP details, we may need to investigate a bit deeper.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi Alex,

    there are no folders in the FTP created. Looks like you create some FTP space especially for that user.

    Do you have cpanel or something similar with that hosting plan?

    If you do, please provide link and credentials for it and we will figure out how to access your ftp.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi Alex,

    the server must have some sort of pattern recognition and it somehow thinks it’s a hack attempt or something, while we are only trying to save data in the db via a normal wordpress ajax call.

    Even when posting direct to admin-ajax.php and all we have is a

    print_r($_REQUEST);exit;

    we still get 404 from that request, and WP has never been loaded.

    You should ask assistance to your server admin, there is really nothing we can do about it.

    If they are not willing to fix it, you should consider moving to a more flexible provider, we can help you with that.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for the info.

    This problem is 100% server related, i will try and explain it so you can pass it on to your server support.

    When the following url is sent info via POST it returns 404:
    http://shoestringweddings.com.au/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=geodir_ajax_action&manage_field_type=custom_fields

    I tried editing the file admin-ajax.php to only have

    print_r($REQUEST);exit;

    but it was still giving a 404 which is impossible, it must be a server security script thinking it is a hack attempt or something.

    Below is the header info you might want to give to your host:
    REQUEST HEADERS:
