So I added 8 places to my site last night at http://dev.eatingoxfordshire.co.uk/

I could see them all and the site was working fine, but now I can only see three. I can still see all 8 in the backend, but in the front they have vanished!

    Any ideas?

I’ve just noticed that it is all of the places outside of Oxford (which is my default city) which have disappeared. I want this to be an Oxfordshire wide directory and not just Oxford. Any ideas?

You are using MultiLocations, but you have not added the Location Switcher to your menu. So you have somehow navigated to a particular location, and are still in that location but because you are not using the switcher, you don’t know.
Go to GD > multi locations> settings > add the switcher to the menu.

Let us know how you got on.

Thats great. How can I get it to get rid of ‘country’ and ‘region’ as they are not needed as it is only for Oxfordshire.

    Thanks,

    Rich

Set MultiLocations to default country, default region and multi city at GD > multi locations> settings

Thanks for this. How do you unmerge cities/locations?

    What do you mean?
A location is a city, town, village, suburb or whatever it is called in your neck of the woods. The Google API decides that when your users add a listing.
You cannot have half a city, so you cannot UN-merge … ?
You cannot set GD NOT to use cities, but only regions, if that is what you mean.

If you remove the location name from the URL, your visitors are less likely to navigate to a location other than Everywhere:
GD > Permalinks > Add location in urls > NO
