Plugin to reorder categories

    Hi,
    Can anyone suggest a trusted plugin to put the categories in alphabetical order or a custom order? I’m adding more on a new site to both places and events and need to rearrange them. I don’t want to to have to delete and re-add them and I might want to add more in the future.

    I’m using Whoop on this site.

    Is it the Popular Categories widget or shortcode, or something else?

    That particular feature doesn’t have a setting to change the order.

    If that’s not it, please send over a URL so we can see the categories you want to order.

    It’s just the choice of categories when people add a listing – the dropdown in the add listing page so people can choose which category(s) their post belongs to. I don’t want them in the order I created or added them. It’s not the widget. I know there’s no setting to change the order that’s why i wondered if anyone has used a plugin to do it. Would it be compatible with Whoop if I tried it? I don’t know. There are a few on WordPress.org:

    No, a plugin would probably not work for that.

    It is some sort of custom order, then? Like

    Bananas
    Oranges
    Apples

    Something not alphabetical?

    Are you using the default ‘ajax-chained’ widget for the field?
