po-files are magically restoring themselves

Hi, something crude:
Within the last 3 days now I have been replacing the po- and mo-files with my own files every day under
/wp-content/languages/plugins

After one day the old files are reappearing there and my own translations are overwritten!
Is there a new function that is restoring these files?
Is it possible to deactivate that?

I’d love to use my own wording instead!

There is not a function restoring those files.
Is this something we can see happening?
